Position: Licensed Nursing Assistant, Full Time 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care per policies and procedures.
  • Carry out direct physical care, document resident needs and conditions, and direct non‑licensed personnel as needed.
  • Serve as responsible/charge on a unit for a particular shift, accountable to the LPN for monitoring and RN for supervision.
  • Communicate regularly with the charge nurse regarding observations, problem areas, resident and employee activities.
  • Observe residents’ medical, mental and emotional conditions and communicate changes to appropriate staff.
  • Provide explanation and understanding of nursing care to residents and families.
  • Monitor resident rooms for potential safety hazards and negotiate removal or replacement with the resident/family.
  • Demonstrate proper body mechanics when assisting residents, physical activities and lifting/moving items.
  • Instruct and reinforce proper technique for residents in the safe use of walkers and wheelchairs.
  • Assist in admission, orientation, discharge and transfer of residents, including packing/unpacking belongings, placing personal items, initiating work orders, orienting residents to the apartment and unit environment, scheduling showers and laundry, and assisting with dining room seating and introductions.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensed Nursing Aide.
  • At least 1 year experience as a licensed nursing assistant in a long‑term geriatric setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm for rehabilitation and growth.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Good observation skills.
  • Ability to treat patient information confidentially.
  • Well organized, compassionate, and able to communicate effectively in English with residents, family and staff.
Physical Requirements
  • Mostly standing and walking.
  • Ability to bend, stoop and support residents.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs unaided, 50 lbs with assistance, and support 100 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and keen vision needed to operate equipment.
  • Possible exposure to unpleasant conditions and infectious material.
Compensation

Hourly pay: $18.15 - $24.14
