Position: Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,400-2,700 per week

Travel Registered Nurse or Local Registered Nurse (RN) Med-Surg in Keene, NH.
$per week, Net take home. Paid Weekly. (based on experience)
First Day Health/Dental/Vision Benefits through UHC.
13-week contract
12-hour shifts (Day or Nights) 7a-7p or 7p-7a
36-hour week guaranteed
2-Years of Med-Surg Experience Required
8-hours unpaid orientation (non-negotiable)

Position Summary:

Med-Surg Nurses provide care for primarily adult patients pre- and post-surgical procedures; they also attend to those who are being treated with pharmaceuticals to manage acute and chronic illnesses.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.
  • Educates patients on surgical procedures.
  • Records patients’ medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets and records electronic displays.
  • Initiates corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology.
  • Provides bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
  • Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician. Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post-treatment home care needs.
  • Changes dressings, inserts catheters, starts IVs.
  • Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
  • Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol.
  • Participates in discharge planning.
  • Because patients need round-the-clock care, working hours include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

    Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds.
  • Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than (100) pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Fine motor skills/visual acuity.
  • Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board.
  • Minimum of two (2) years Med-Surg experience.
