Dining Room Supervisor POSITION SUMMARYThe Dining Room Supervisor helps create a joyful and vibrant community by overseeing operations for the entire dining room including training of service staff, organization and cleanliness for the entire dining room, and promoting a positive image to residents, families, and guests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Provides formal training and schedules for all servers to provide a great experience for all residents and guests.
- Assigns a lead server for all shifts that are not supervised by the Dining room supervisor.
- Ensures that all food venues are clean and well maintained for all aspects of service; including tables and chairs that are set in a uniform and consistent manner.
- Establishes and assigns side work responsibilities for each section, by meal period. Inspects to ensure quality and accountability.
- Provides that all residents and guests are greeted promptly as they enter the dining room by the Dining room supervisor or designated server.
- Serves tables while observing and assisting all servers to provide excellent customer service to residents and all guests.
- Maintains the private dining room for use as scheduled.
- Pre-meal line up is conducted prior to every meal to review:
- The daily menu and specials.
- Personal presentation is in accordance with Fieldstone standards for uniforms and grooming.
- Residents special needs and concerns.
- Daily Service Training Points.
- Schedules staff within budgeted departmental guidelines.
- Recognizes performance issues and provide staff with corrective solutions.
- Conducts monthly service training for servers
- Ensures servers follow sequence of service for each resident and guest.
- Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings. Stays current on all system assigned tasks and duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years prior experience serving in similar environment preferred.
- Prefer prior experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations.
- Requires attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Resident care philosophy with a focus on providing the highest level of quality service and professional interaction.
- Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees.
- Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position.
- Maintains CPR and/or First Aid Certification as required by State regulation.
- Pass a Criminal Background Check.
- Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
- Ability to work independently (with minimum supervision)
