IDEA-B
-224 - The intent of IDEA-B is to supplement the level of special education and related services to eligible children with disabilities, ages 3-21, who are enrolled in our district. This includes providing financial assistance to LEAs to ensure they provide a free appropriate public education to students with disabilities, protecting the rights of students with disabilities and their parents, and designing IEPs to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
IDEA-B Preschool- 225 The intent of IDEA-B Preschool is to supplement the level of special education and related services to eligible children with disabilities, ages 3-5, who are enrolled in our district. This includes providing financial assistance to LEAs to ensure they provide a free appropriate public education to students with disabilities, protecting the rights of students with disabilities and their parents, and designing IEPs to meet the needs of students with disabilities.

SUMMARY:
Provides technical assistance and support in the area of Special Education programming. Promotes quality and compliance of programs and services to improve student achievement.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Instructional Strategies
* Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop an Individualized Education Program (IEP) through the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process for each student assigned.
* Implement an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned students and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences.
* Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Board Policies, and Administrative Regulations.
* Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to modify regular curricula as needed for students identified.
* Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to District requirements.
* Participate in ARD Committee meetings on a regular basis.
* Participate in selection of equipment and other instructional media.
Student Growth and Development
* Consult District and outside resource individuals regarding education, social, medical, and personal needs of students.
* Be a positive role model for students.
Classroom Management and Organization
* Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
