PurposeOf Position
Position that manages key projects with external/contract manufacturing partners that enable quicker, smoother growth and cost effectiveness for products in the Optical Communications Division. This role works cross‑functionally and globally with Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, Product Line Management, Global Supply Management and Quality.
MajorRoles And Responsibilities
- Ensure that external manufacturers and key suppliers meet requirements for key projects.
- Analyze and optimize forecasts to match production schedules and customer deliveries.
- Analyze inventory data with recommendations to help position the business at the lowest inventory level while supporting revenue targets.
- Understand and manage product BOM, Approved Vendor List, process maps and associated data.
- Escort product data from design stages through NPI and volume manufacturing into end‑of‑life stage.
- Develop and maintain impact metrics and score cards to maintain execution traceability.
- Up to 35% travel, including domestic and overseas travel.
- Role based out of Corning, Keller, TX. Alternative locations:
Austin, TX;
Charlotte, NC.
- Engineering bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 1‑3 years’ experience in an engineering and manufacturing environment and project management.
- Minimum 1 year working on major global projects.
- Understanding of product structures, BOM, AVL.
- Understanding of PDM, ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong communication skills and flexibility to work with multiple cultures and time zones.
- High initiative, self‑motivation and ability to work in multinational, matrixed organizations.
- Results‑oriented approach in managing multiple work streams.
- Ability to analyze data, manage actions and present results.

The range for this position is $81,750.00 – $ assuming full‑time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
