Texas Power Bars is seeking a dependable Machinist to manufacture barbell components and assist with building finished bars.
This position involves operating CNC and manual machines, running production parts, inspecting components, making basic machine adjustments, and helping with barbell assembly when needed.
The ideal candidate has machining or manufacturing experience, strong mechanical ability, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work with limited supervision.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment
- Manufacture barbell shafts, sleeves, collars, and related components
- Read blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and job orders
- Load materials and tooling for production runs
- Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools
- Inspect finished parts for dimensions, finish, and overall quality
- Make minor tooling, offset, speed, and feed adjustments
- Identify worn tooling or production problems
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance
- Assist with barbell assembly, inspection, packaging, and production
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work with shop leadership to meet production schedules
- Help in other areas of the shop when needed
- Previous machinist, CNC operator, machine operator, or manufacturing experience
- Ability to read blueprints, job orders, and dimensional specifications
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently after training
- Willingness to learn different machines and processes
- Ability to safely lift and move steel parts and finished barbells
- Experience with CNC lathes, manual lathes, Haas or Fanuc controls, production machining, knurling, threading, drilling, turning, or steel-part manufacturing is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to stand for most of the shift, perform repetitive manufacturing work, work around machinery and normal shop noise, and safely lift approximately 50 pounds.
- Full-time weekday position. Overtime may be available depending on production needs.
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience and technical ability.
