Role Purpose

The Quality Engineer (QE) for the Data Center Business Unit (DC BU) supports product and process quality across data center products and manufacturing operations. In partnership with Engineering, Operations, Supplier Quality, NPI, and Customer‑facing teams, the QE helps prevent quality issues, investigates incidents, and contributes to effective corrective and preventive actions. The role applies an engineering mindset, data analysis, and structured problem‑solving to ensure product integrity and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate data center quality incidents, including containment, data collection, and root cause analysis.
  • Document, track, and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with senior engineers and the DC Quality Excellence Manager on escalations requiring cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain product and process quality tools such as CTQs, control plans, and risk assessments.
  • Participate in process capability studies, measurement system analysis (MSA), and data‑driven evaluations of key manufacturing processes.
  • Support quality engineering activities in manufacturing, testing, external manufacturing and end‑customer environments.
  • Provide early quality support during NPI phases to ensure design‑for‑quality and manufacturability considerations are addressed.
  • Assist in qualification builds, readiness reviews, and risk mitigation activities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze quality performance data (e.g., PPM, complaints, audit findings) to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects using structured problem‑solving and basic statistical methods.
  • Act as a technical representative for the DC BU during customer quality interactions and audits.
  • Maintain audit readiness and compliance with applicable Quality Management System standards (e.g., ISO, TL).
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or related engineering roles.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
  • Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams in a technical environment.
  • Ability to analyze data and communicate findings clearly.
Desired Experience
  • Experience with data center, high‑reliability, or high‑speed connectivity products.
  • Exposure to Six Sigma or structured problem‑solving methodologies (e.g., Green Belt training).
  • Familiarity with ISO
    9001 / TL9000 or other quality management standards.
  • Experience with digital QMS tools or analytics platforms such as SAP, ETQ, SharePoint, Power BI.
