Role Purpose
A Product Development Technician supports new product and process development activities. Build high‑precision optical connectors and related fiber‑optic telecommunication products and analyze them according to internal and industry test standards. They collaborate with development engineers to deliver connectivity solutions for manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities- Support development engineers in creating new products while generating deep scientific understanding
- Build standard and custom optical connectors using both existing and newly developed manufacturing processes
- Complete mechanical and optical testing to assess product performance
- Perform troubleshooting of product and equipment
- Collect and analyse numerical data
- Create and modify documentation including manufacturing instructions
- Strong hands‑on aptitude – Build high‑precision optical connectors and other related fiber‑optic telecommunication products
- Perform industry‑standardized testing
- Use connectorization lab equipment safely
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with mechanical test equipment, microscopes, and other measurement devices
- Familiar with safe lab practices
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling (Solid Works, Siemens NX, Creo, or similar)
- Functions well in ambiguous situations and addresses issues proactively
- Works well in a team, is a self‑starter and results oriented
- Positive attitude, flexible, proactive, and committed work ethic
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- 3D printing experience
- Fiber‑optic technician with at least 2 years experience building optical products

Compensation: $60,620.00 – $83,353.00 (full‑time). Starting pay depends on location, market, experience, training, and education.
