Business Development Representative – Penguin Patch, Keller, Texas, United States
Penguin Patch is a family-owned and operated business founded by Kay and led by Kay’s daughter Jennifer, located in Keller, TX. The program partners with PTA/PTO groups in elementary schools to provide holiday shops and teach the joy of giving. We are the market leader in providing holiday shops to elementary schools nationwide and build relationships with volunteers over the phone to bring joy to millions of students.

- Work is performed in an office environment and involves consistent telephone contact with customers, potential customers, and co-workers
- Initiate sales calls to present the company program to prospective customers

- Build rapport with potential clients, selling and aligning program benefits to customer needs
- Close sales opportunities in a timely and effective manner
- Maintain working knowledge of product lines
- Customer service skills (helpful, friendly and kind on every call)
- Excellent communication skills (ability to carry a conversation and build rapport)
- Goal-oriented mindset and competitive spirit (aim to meet and exceed goals)
- Active listening skills (ability to listen and solve problems)
- Computer skills (ability to navigate computer systems and send emails)
- Teamwork mentality (ability to support and cheer on teammates)
- High school graduate or GED preferred
- Previous telemarketing experience of at least 1 year desired
- Basic working knowledge of computer software systems
- Proficient with computer, copier, and multi-line telephone systems
- Professional telephone manner that is pleasant and helpful
- Basic arithmetic skills (add, subtract)
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, customers, potential customers, and co-workers
- Ability to handle difficult customer service issues professionally
- Think customer first philosophy
- Ability to create win/win situations through excellent customer service
- Remain professional and calm in challenging situations
Pay range: $18 - $20 per hour
