The Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements and supporting disclosures. This role supports the month-end close process, assists with filings, ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP, and collaborates cross-functionally to maintain high-quality financial information.
Key Responsibilities Financial Statements & Reporting- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Support preparation of filings and reporting.
- Ensure reporting accuracy and consistency through strong internal documentation and workpaper support.
- Assist with researching accounting guidance and drafting technical memos.
- Support compliance activities, including documentation and testing of key controls.
- Participate in annual audit and quarterly review processes; respond to auditor requests.
- Active participation in treasury and cash management.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and enhance financial controls.
- Contribute to system improvements or reporting automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with operational accounting teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Support preparation of board and audit committee materials related to financial reporting and internal controls reporting
- Implement reporting automation and ERP improvements
- Promote company culture by sharing knowledge and contributing to the skill growth of team members
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting or public company experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Proficiency with Excel and financial systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- CPA or CPA-eligible.
- Experience with financial reporting, Microsoft Dynamics, Workiva, or similar ERP systems.
- Prior mining or public company experience.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
- Team-oriented with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Located in Coeur d'Alene, with flexibility to be on site, Kellogg, , of quarterly equivalent of one week per month (e.g., one week per month or one month per quarter or two weeks for 2 months)
- Periodic overtime required during quarter-end and year-end close.
