Position Overview
The Process Supervisor will play a critical role in the start-up of Bunker Hills new processing facility and in shaping the culture of the newly formed processing team. This position is responsible for ensuring that all operational activities for the processing facility are properly executed in a safe and efficient manner without causing damage to the environment. The Supervisor will lead a team of Processing Operators and spend significant time in the field, interacting with the workforce, and maintaining a “visible felt leadership”.
Duties & Responsibilities- Communicate and plan crew training needs and execute training plans to increase crew flexibility and enhance the work forces’ knowledge and skills.
- Perform timely and accurate employee evaluations.
- Maintain documentation of employee performance and feedback and keep supervisors logs up to date.
- Ensure circuit competency/proficiency checklists are completed in a timely fashion.
- Actively participate in and execute Operator Excellence program as defined.
- Review SOPs/Critical Task Procedures, conduct training for each assigned critical task, and keep updated training logs.
- Provide positive reinforcement for behaviors that are conducive to sustained excellent performance and provide coaching to improve substandard behaviors.
- Manage employee hours according to policy/guidelines. (OT, training/relief pay, vacation, and PTO)
- Meet with the Operation’s Planner on a routine basis to provide feedback on work completion, planning, and scheduling.
- Daily equipment management including maintenance, inspections, training, schedules, inventory, etc.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are continually improved and are being maintained and manage crew supplies.
- Complete shift reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Environmental compliance, containment, and management of data and reporting.
- Participate and contribute to safety, incident, and performance investigations as required.
- High school diploma or GED; technical training in mineral processing or related field preferred.
- 5-10 years of processing experience, preferably in a mining/mineral processing environment.
- Ability to work 12 hour shifts in a 4 on / 4 off rotating schedule.
- Experience with planning and processing management; set objectives and goals, anticipate problems, align with business objectives, and deliver results.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate equipment safely.
- Intermediate computer skills and ability to use MS Office Suite and Talent and Inventory Management Systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Proven success leading a team to elevate performance, ensure high safety standards, and provide a good working environment.
- Ability to continually focus on business performance, commitment to continual personal development, and desire to produce quality work.
- Strong sense of urgency with experience making decisive and timely decisions.
- Experience using resources effectively and efficiently while orchestrating multiple activities to accomplish goals.
- Move head and neck repeatedly and ability to turn head 90 degrees while operating equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and/or sit for extended periods of time.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Depth perception and peripheral vision.
- Hear, see and smell various types of warnings.
- Wear required protective equipment.
- Perform duties under extreme temperature and weather conditions.
- Ability to work extended work shifts as required.
