Job Summary
The Team At the Compliance Division, the Independent Gambling Control Office is home to a dynamic team. We value the unique perspectives each member brings, contributing to a collaborative environment that plays a crucial role in maintaining fairness in horse racing across B.C.
The RoleProvide a variety of office administrative, secretarial, and financial support services for the program and coordinate the day‑to‑day priorities of the director/manager/judges/stewards/inspectors/division veterinarian, including liaison with ministry executive offices. Process all new license applications or renewals and respond to inquiries from government staff, public, licensing applicants and other stakeholders.
Qualifications- Experience working in an office setting.
- Experience with word processing and database applications (i.e., Microsoft Office).
- Experience providing client service.
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience working with multicultural organizations and/or communities.
- In person attendance at the track.
- Hours of work vary and may include shifts between 5 to 10 hours in length, during weekdays, and/or evenings and weekends (including statutory holidays), dependent on seasonal live racing schedules and operational requirements.
One (1) seasonal part‑time position available in Osoyoos. Temporary opportunity until December 18, 2026. Full‑time on‑site requirements. Enhanced security screening required. Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
