The Opportunity

We’re seeking a motivated Project Analyst with experience in complex job costing, and operational accounting to join our team. This is a full-time, in-office role based at our Kelowna head office.

As a Project Analyst you’ll collaborate with the Business Operations and Project Finance teams to ensure the accurate and timely recording and reporting of project results.

If you are positive, people-oriented, and eager to grow your career with a company that has a long-standing reputation, this could be the role for you!

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure project setups in the ERP system—including contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and subcontract compliance—are accurate and align with operational requirements.
  • Review project costs, payroll hours, committed costs, and expense classifications ahead of billing cycles to assist operations with financial clarity.
  • Prepare job cost adjustments and month-end accruals to ensure that costs are recognized accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate monthly invoicing, progress claims, and holdback processing in accordance with contract terms and project schedules.
  • Track and manage accounts receivable and monitor cash position; conduct billing analysis to support cash flow and financial health across projects.
  • Provide ongoing financial guidance to project teams throughout setup, execution, and close-out phases to help manage risks and identify opportunities.
  • Assist the Project Controller in preparing monthly project reports that include contract status, budget variances, cash flow status, billing analysis, and KPIs.
  • Build strong working relationships with project teams, accounting, leadership, and external stakeholders (e.g., joint venture partners) to foster transparency and trust.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments (Operations, Accounting, Project Management) to ensure consistency in financial processes and help clarify financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Your Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of contract requirements for billing, subcontract compliance, change orders, and holdbacks.
  • Proficient in financial systems (experience with Vista Viewpoint is a strong asset); familiarity with ERP setups, reporting tools (e.g., Excel advanced features such as Pivot Tables, Power Query), or business intelligence platforms is beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills. Ability to identify variances, root causes, and to communicate findings clearly.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Able to manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in project accounting, job costing, cost control, or…
