Financial Planner within the Scotia Financial Planning team (formerly Investment Specialist in the Mobile Advice Team) in the Global Asset Management Division.

Role SummaryAs a Financial Planner you will focus on developing and deepening client relationships by providing high-quality investment and financial planning advice within the mass affluent market. You will be responsible for driving investment sales, new client acquisition, and business development while adhering to Global Sales Principles, compliance and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities- Business Development:
Execute business development plans for prospects and existing clients within the mass affluent market, identifying opportunities and facilitating implementation of investment solutions and referrals to partners. - Client-Centric:
Provide client-centric investment solutions via a financial planning framework, conduct outbound communications and proactive calling to maintain top-of-mind with prospects, and perform complimentary needs analysis across financial statements. - Community Involvement:
Participate in local professional and community events, develop and expand networks, deliver community information sessions and financial seminars, build and maintain market profile, and manage a small independent marketing budget. - Adhere to Global Sales Principles, compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Generate and drive investment sales and new client acquisition.
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning and investment sales.
- Active mutual funds certification; current accreditation and good standing for MFDA licensing requirements (Investments Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).
- Completed Personal Financial Planning (PFP®) designation and/or Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.
- Proven networking, client acquisition and interpersonal skills; experience building and maintaining Centres of Influence (COIs).
- Goal-oriented and entrepreneurial; ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a larger team.
- Extensive knowledge of competitive offerings, market trends, economic conditions and regulatory environment.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle to meet clients and prospects within the designated district.
