Trotter & Morton Building Technologies is a multi-service construction company providing
electrical and mechanical work for a wide variety of commercial building projects. Since 1927,

As part of our continued growth in the Okanagan, we are expanding our Kelowna branch and
building a strong local mechanical project team to support current and upcoming commercial
work in the region.

The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting Mechanical Project Team Members to support commercial
mechanical projects. This posting is intended for professionals with experience in Project
Management, Project Coordination, or those progressing between the two, depending on
experience and capability.

This position is based out of Kelowna, BC, supporting the growth and long-term development of
Trotter & Morton’s Mechanical operations in the Okanagan region.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Administration

• Support and/or manage pre-construction, construction, and closeout phases of mechanical
projects

• Assist with project setup, scheduling, and document control using Procore

• Coordinate permits, licenses, and required documentation

• Support procurement, RFQs, and material tracking

• Assist with quantity take-offs, pricing, and estimating support

• Track costs against budget and support forecasting and cost control

• Prepare, review, and track submittals, RFIs, and change documentation

• Support preparation of billing schedules, progress billing, and closeout documentation

Project Management (Experience Dependent)

• Manage day-to-day operations of site teams, superintendents, and foremen

• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers

• Support subcontract negotiation and agreement processing

• Assist with change orders and financial reporting

• Participate in post-project closeout and lessons learned sessions

Team & Relationship Management

• Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers

• Support internal collaboration between estimating, operations, and field teams

• Contribute to continuous improvement of systems, procedures, and workflows

Required Skills

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication

Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Strong work ethic and team-first mindset

• Proficiency with MS Office;
Procore experience considered an asset

Required Experience

• Experience in commercial mechanical construction required

• Engineering Degree, CET, Project Management training, or Journeyperson trade background
considered an asset

• Project Coordinator, Assistant PM, or Project Manager experience welcomed

• Field experience strongly valued

Additional Requirements

• Travel to project sites within the Okanagan and surrounding areas may be required

• Role may be office-based, site-based, or hybrid depending on project needs

While this posting is focused on strengthening our Kelowna-based Mechanical Project Team,
Trotter & Morton is also beginning conversations with experienced Plumbers interested in
joining our field teams on future commercial projects in the Okanagan region. Please note that
in BC Trotter and Morton’s Mechanical Division is a UA170 registered division. All plumbers,
with the assistance and sponsorship of Trotter and Morton will be required to become UA 170
union members and compensation is based on union wage rates.
