Join the Town of Osoyoos as the Chief Wastewater Operator and contribute to essential environmental services. This position is focused on the effective management of wastewater treatment operations in a beautiful BC setting.
In this key role, reporting to the Utilities Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations, including maintenance, inspection, and optimization of the wastewater treatment plant. Responsibilities also extend to mentoring staff, emergency response, and compliance with regulatory frameworks. You will ensure safe and efficient wastewater management in this full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of wastewater facilities
• Conduct inspections and testing for system performance
• Coordinate maintenance actions and emergency responses
• Mentor junior staff in operational duties and safety standards
• Maintain comprehensive records and operational inventories
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• EOCP certifications for Wastewater Treatment and Collection
• Seven years of relevant operational experience
• Valid BC Class 3 Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
• Leadership experience in wastewater preferred
