That’s because you know how to tailor customer‑centric programs and can build effective, collaborative relationships that feed into evergreen programs.
This may be the perfect opportunity for you as our Conservation and Energy Management department is looking to hire a Program Manager. You will be part of the multi‑talented backbone of Conservation and Energy Management that oversees the long‑term strategic direction and day‑to‑day operations of our team.
We need you to take a proactive approach in streamlining processes and engaging stakeholders to ensure our programs continue to push the needle on sustainable energy practices. Help us rethink our energy future.
In this role, you will:
Lead strategy, design, and continuous improvement of Residential New Home, Retail, and Appliance programs, ensuring customer-focused, market-relevant offerings aligned with DSM objectives.
Oversee end-to-end program operations, collaborating with others to drive efficient delivery and continuous process optimization.
Design and evolve DSM incentives, eligibility frameworks, and delivery models to enhance participation, cost-effectiveness, and customer experience.
Provide well-articulated information for external engagement, regulatory proceedings and internal reporting; delivering accurate, evidence-based input on program design and performance.
Manage program budgets to ensure strong financial oversight, alignment with objectives, and optimized spending for maximum impact.
Hire, train and create positive working relationships with program support teams.
Develop competitive bidding contracts, legal contracts and terms and conditions in conjunction with procurement and legal departments.
Lead and manage internal staff and third‑party delivery partners, driving accountability, performance, and strong stakeholder relationships to ensure effective program execution.
Set practical and obtainable goals for program and department development plans.
Build collaborative working relationships with internal teams, such as Energy Solutions, Climate Action Partners, and Community Relations and key external interest groups, including local governments, Indigenous communities, educational organizations and more.
Adjudicate technically complex and escalated New Home applications, providing timely, well‑reasoned decisions on eligibility and exceptions.
What it takes:
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related discipline from a recognized program, plus a minimum of five (5) years of recent, related experience with demonstrated success.
A proven track record of building relationships in complex work environments.
Exceptional organizational and project management skillset.
Ability to work and learn independently in a fast‑paced environment with complex processes.
A ‘get it done right’ and ‘can do’ perspective that fosters strengthened relationships through every engagement.
Previous experience with delivering and communicating Demand Side Management programs and working in a regulated utility is considered an asset.
Previous experience with residential new home construction, energy management/efficiency is considered an asset
Valid BC driver’s license.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive, and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life‑long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
