Position Summary
The Sales Representative plays a key role in growing Canada West’s business by combining responsive customer service with proactive sales activity, ensuring strong revenue performance across residential and light commercial markets.
This role balances responding to inbound inquiries, preparing estimates, and actively generating new business opportunities across the residential new construction and renovation & replacement (R&R) markets, with some exposure to commercial projects.
The successful candidate will combine strong customer service with proactive sales activity, building relationships with homeowners, builders, contractors, and property managers while ensuring profitable and well‑executed projects.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Respond to inbound inquiries and convert opportunities into sales
Actively generate leads through outreach, referrals, and relationship development
Identify and pursue opportunities in:
Residential new construction
Renovation and replacement (R&R) market
Light commercial applications
Build and maintain relationships with:
Homeowners
Builders and contractors
Property managers and small commercial clients
Participate in site visits and customer consultations to develop solutions and close sales
Estimating & Quoting
Prepare accurate and timely estimates for overhead door projects
Ensure pricing aligns with margin and profitability targets
Review project requirements, specifications, and scope of work
Identify and communicate changes or additional work outside of original scope
Product Sales & Customer Solutions
Sell a full range of products including:
Residential and commercial overhead doors
Power openers and related accessories
Service and maintenance offerings
Provide guidance to customers on product selection, features, and value
Maintain a strong understanding of product lines and industry trends
Customer Experience & Relationship Management
Deliver a high level of customer service throughout the sales process
Act as the primary point of contact from initial inquiry through project completion
Address customer questions, concerns, and issues in a timely and professional manner
Build long‑term relationships to support repeat and referral business
Sales Coordination & Execution
Work closely with Operations to coordinate:
Scheduling of installations and service work
Material availability and project timelines
Ensure smooth handoff from sales to operations and successful project execution
Maintain accurate records of opportunities, quotes, and sales activity
Performance & Reporting
Track and manage sales pipeline, quoting activity, and conversion rates
Monitor performance against sales targets and contribute to overall branch results
Provide updates to management on sales activity, opportunities, and market conditions
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in sales, preferably in construction products, building materials, or related services
Experience with estimating and quoting is considered an asset
Knowledge of overhead doors, construction, or mechanical systems is an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build relationships and close sales
Strong organizational and time management skills
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment
Valid Driver's License
Our compensation package includes an annual base salary of approximately $40,000, plus an attractive commission and incentives program enabling six‑figure income, along with a vehicle or vehicle allowance and comprehensive benefits plan.
