Join the Ontario Jewish Archives, starting in July 2025, as a full-time archivist driving community engagement through archival practices. Focus on collection management, digitization, and reference services.
This permanent role with the UJA Federation emphasizes your experience in archival institutions and knowledge of archival standards. You will engage with donors, manage collections, and support public outreach initiatives. Strong communication skills and a commitment to preserving Ontario's Jewish narratives are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage with donors to accession records into the archive
• Process, describe, and maintain archival collections
• Digitize records for the digital repository
• Provide reference assistance and respond to inquiries
• Support outreach activities, programming, and tours
Requirements:
• Master's degree in Information with an Archives focus
• At least 1-year experience in archival settings
• In-depth understanding of archival principles and practices
• Technical savvy with digital preservation methods
• English fluency required; knowledge of other languages a plus
Contribute your archival knowledge and communication skills to celebrate and preserve Ontario’s rich Jewish heritage at the OJA.
