Join Okanagan College as a Chemistry/Biology Laboratory Technician, focusing on maintaining lab safety and equipment. This full-time role enhances the educational experience for students in a collaborative environment.
You will work under limited supervision to ensure lab equipment is operational, assist instructors in preparing lab materials, and maintain regulatory documentation. Your expertise will directly impact the classroom experience by providing necessary materials for hands-on learning and ensuring the safe handling of chemicals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organize, set up, and clean science labs
• Maintain comprehensive inventory of lab supplies
• Troubleshoot and optimize lab equipment and computers
• Ensure compliance with biosafety and hazardous material practices
• Procure laboratory supplies from various sources
Requirements:
• Graduation from a two-year related program
• At least 2 years of relevant experience
• Valid Occupational First Aid – Level 2 certificate
• Valid class five driver’s license
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
