EESC Technician – Lab and Field Support

Become an integral part of UBC's educational team as an EESC Lab and Field Technician, responsible for ensuring safe and effective laboratory and field learning environments. This role merges laboratory preparation and fieldwork expertise in a dynamic setting.

As a Lab and Field Technician, you will support the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences by preparing lab materials, maintaining safety protocols, and assisting in experiential learning activities.

Your role will foster a better learning atmosphere for undergraduate students through comprehensive technical support and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare materials and equipment for teaching labs

• Ensure labs run smoothly and safely

• Assist with field trips and necessary equipment

• Maintain equipment inventory and safety checks

• Coordinate bookings for department resources

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

• Minimum of three years of experience in similar roles

• Strong organizational abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools

• Clean Class 5 driver’s license required
