Intermediate Aquatic Ecologist at SLR

SLR Consulting is seeking an Intermediate Aquatic Ecologist to enhance our Ecology and Biodiversity practice. You will lead technical aquatic assessments on infrastructure and mining projects across British Columbia.

As part of a vibrant team, you will support surface water quality investigations, utilize your project management skills, and develop new opportunities for SLR. This role involves mentorship, field data collection, communication with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring project compliance with regulations. Your expertise will aid in moving sustainability efforts forward with impactful ecological consultations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead project management across the full project lifecycle

• Manage aquatic field programs, including sampling and assessments

• Analyze field data and prepare comprehensive technical reports

• Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations

• Mentor junior staff and promote safe field operations

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Biology, Ecology, or Natural Sciences

• 7 to 10+ years in ecological sciences, minimum 3 in consulting

• Expertise in aquatic investigations and quality assessments

• Proficient in data analysis and ecological reporting

• Registered or eligible to register as RPBio
