About the OpportunityAllied Plumbing is looking for multiple full-time HVAC/Refrigeration Technicians and Plumbing Technicians (2/3/4th Year Apprentice or Journeyperson) based in Vancouver, BC or Vancouver Island.
Reporting to the Plumbing or Refrigeration Manager, you will play a key role in delivering service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work across commercial and institutional facilities. Working independently and as part of a collaborative team, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, providing solutions, and maintaining strong client relationships while upholding Allied Plumbing’s high standards of service.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical system issues
- Performing service, maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance work across commercial and institutional facilities
- Completing mechanical room service, repair, upgrade, and rebuild projects
- Performing equipment replacements and mechanical installations, including pumps, valves, tanks, piping, and related components
- Responding to emergency service calls and participating in an on-call rotation as required
- Identifying repair, maintenance, and system upgrade opportunities during service visits
- Documenting system issues, repair recommendations, and required scope of work within the service management system
- Preparing draft quotes for repairs, materials, equipment, and recommended work for office review
- Completing accurate service reports, work orders, and safety documentation in a timely manner
- Communicating effectively with customers, dispatch, supervisors, and team members regarding job progress and service requirements
- Maintaining organized service vehicles, tools, equipment, and job materials
- Following company safety procedures, client site requirements, and industry best practices while delivering exceptional customer service
To qualify, you will need to be a registered Apprentice (2nd year or above) or Journeyperson Plumber, HVAC/Refrigeration Technician, or Refrigeration Mechanic
. A minimum of 2 years of relevant commercial service, maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair experience will also be essential. A satisfactory driver's abstract and ability to undergo a criminal record check is required.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Gas A or Gas B certification
- Backflow certification
- Cross Connection Control Certificate
- FSR-BR Electrical Certificate of Qualification
- Experience working in commercial, institutional, or industrial environments
- Experience servicing mechanical rooms and complex building systems
- Ability to be on call once every 5 weeks…
