We are seeking current university students in teacher education courses with the capacity to combine employment with their study commitments.

Denison College of Secondary Education - Kelso High Campus is a comprehensive public high school with 850 students located in the city of Bathurst, NSW, three hours' drive from the Sydney CBD. Contract:

16 March 2026 - 26 January 2027. Two (2) or three (3) days per week (0.4

FTE - 0.6

FTE).

The selection process involves:

* Submission of a current resume with the following details:

* full name and contact details of the applicant

* relevant qualifications, including those completed and not yet completed. Provide details regarding current teacher education university studies, Certificate III in Education Support, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent studies in the fields of education or human services.

* Submission of an Expression of Interest addressing the specific Role Statement and Duties outlined below (approximately 300 words).

Position information

Educational Paraprofessionals work under the guidance and supervision of teachers, supporting teaching and learning in the classroom under the Education (School Administrative and Support Staff) Act 1987. They are engaged in a temporary capacity and are remunerated during term time and non-term time.

The hours of duty for educational paraprofessionals are the same as teachers' hours. Educational paraprofessionals do not have to attend work during non-term time but can be expected to complete class preparation duties during non-teaching weeks as planned with the classroom teacher.

Annual leave is built into non-term time and is granted for four calendar weeks per year for educational paraprofessionals in the Eastern Division during the first calendar non-term week of the summer, autumn, winter and spring student vacations.

Employees must meet the department's screening requirements before they can enter on duty, which include a nationally coordinated criminal history check, criminal history assessment and WWCC verification.

The specific Role Statement and Duties encompass the following:

* Plan, implement, and evaluate small group literacy and numeracy programs for students with additional learning and support needs.

* Collaborative planning, team teaching and delivery of literacy and numeracy strategies with classroom teachers.

* Work collaboratively with Learning and Support Teachers and classroom teachers to support student assessment of learning.

* Case management and support of targeted students to maximise learning opportunities at school and at home including literacy and numeracy strategies; assessment recovery; study support; monitoring student learning and attendance data and communicating with families.

* Supporting the implementation of existing learning programs.

* Other duties determined in consultation with the principal.
