Peace Health is seeking an MRI Technologist for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Day position. Salary range: $46.27-$69.41 per hour. The hiring rate is dependent on education, training, work experience, applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, and other factors.
Job Summary
Responsible for performing all routine and specialized MRI procedures by integrating medical knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and accurate diagnostic information.
- Prepare, supply and equip exam room to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures.
- Organize daily work schedule and perform related clerical duties as required.
- Integrate previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history and medical records to optimize exams.
- Perform the most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary.
- Provide patient education and instruction prior to and after examination. Provide training/education to staff and students as indicated.
- Demonstrate ability to adapt exam to address patient care problems as they arise and resolve issues; apply additional study and examination techniques when abnormalities are present.
- Operate MRI scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction and documentation of images, and perform quality control measures to ensure optimal image quality.
- Apply the ACR Guidance Document for Safe MR Practices to ensure patient, visitor and caregiver safety.
- Perform other patient care activities, duties and responsibilities as assigned consistent with caregivers’ scope of practice, training, experience and license/certification/registration.

- Accredited School
Required:
Radiologic Technology or equivalent education/experience as required for obtaining certification/license/registration as required by state for clinical practice. - Minimum of 1 year (Preferred):
Previous experience. - Required:
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development, and life stages to meet each patient’s needs. - Required:
Demonstrated venipuncture competency. - Required:
Demonstrated knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, practices, procedures, physiology, and human cross-sectional anatomy. - Required:
Demonstrated competency in computer-based programs as they relate to MR applications. - Required:
PACS/RIS knowledge. - Preferred:
Image Cast/Care Cast experience. - Required:
Upon hire ARRT - Radiography or equivalent credential. - Required:
Upon hire ARRT - Magnetic Resonance Imaging or equivalent credential. - Required:
Upon hire ARRT - Sonography or equivalent credential. - Required:
Upon hire Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist or equivalent credential. - Required:
Upon hire American Registry of MRI Technologists Certification and within 1-1/2 years ARRT - Magnetic Resonance Imaging. - Required:
Upon hire Basic Life Support (BLS). - May be required:
Licensure/Certification/Registration to practice in trained modality as required by the State.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Required).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and display flexibility in a fast-paced and changing work environment (Required).
- Ability to work with basic office equipment (telephone, copier, facsimiles, computers, etc.) (Required).
- Strong organizational and analytical skills (Required).
