SummarySea Mar Behavioral Health’s diverse and expanding program seeks a full-time therapist for its Behavioral Health Program in Kelso, WA. The Mental Health Therapist Licensed (MHTL) provides individual and group counseling, case management, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment, and treatment planning. The therapist will provide referrals and coordination with medication providers, primary care physicians, and other community agencies. Therapists must be able to accurately diagnose mental health issues and develop treatment plans based on diagnoses.
Must be willing to work some later hours (after 5pm) and to meet with clients outside of the office and in the community when needed. We are a growing team with wide-ranging experience and educational backgrounds, working closely with medical providers to establish a whole “health home” for our clients. This environment is clinical, supportive and invigorating. This position offers up to $2,000 per week incentive for productivity.

ResponsibilitiesThis individual provides diagnostic assessments, referrals for psychiatric services, and case management in coordination with other treatment teams. The Licensed Mental Health Therapist works with chronically ill patients, patients in intensive outpatient programs, or patients who are high utilizers. Responsibilities include collaborating with CDMHPs and inpatient facilities (including Western State Hospital), ensuring proper hospitalization authorization and discharge planning. The therapist provides individual counseling, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment and treatment planning, and leads groups.
They provide therapy to managed care patients pre-authorized for mental health treatment. The therapist provides clinical supervision to other clinicians pursuing licensing requirements. They assist the Program Manager and clinical supervisor with clinical chart reviews and support agency compliance with WACs, RCWs, and clinical contracts.
- Must hold a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, counseling, or social work with coursework in psychological diagnostics
- Four or more years of clinical experience
- Active license from the Washington State Department of Health at all times and criteria of a Mental Health Professional (MHP); applicable license types include Washington State Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Independent Clinical Social Worker
- Must hold and maintain an active Washington State license in one of the above disciplines
- Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire and maintain current BLS CPR
- Annual TB test and testing at time of hire
