CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT / HCA

Position Responsibilities
  • Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home‑like environment for residents.
  • Receives and gives report from the previous shift.
  • Reviews assignments with designated supervisor.
  • Reads staff communication records and maintains familiarity with resident records as required.
  • Assists with instrumental activities of daily living (ADL’s), environmental orientation, and assistance with other care while encouraging self‑care and independence.
  • Provides services as indicated on resident service plans, including bathing assistance, toileting assistance, transfers, and mobility assistance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, comfortable, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Observes changes in resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates them appropriately.
  • Adheres to all established policies and procedures.
  • Records resident information as required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work safety, and other emergency situations.
  • Notifies nurse and/or designated agent(s) of resident status/change as appropriate.
Training and Experience

Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant program with current license. 18–24 months experience in a similar position; CPR/First Aid certified preferred.

Education

Attendance at mandatory in‑service training. Maintain CPR/First Aid certification. Meet in‑service training hours required for job classification and position.
