Responsibilities
- Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations; follow and enforce safety measures and policies to all who operate vehicles on behalf of Amazon, including vendors and senior team members.
- Perform various functions within the yard and support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers as needed to ensure all trailers arrive and depart on time with zero defects and maintain workflow for buildings.
- Be professionally trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non-public roads or in yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations.
- Learn Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and comply with company policies concerning size, weight, route designations, parking, trailer designations, violation and incident reporting requirements, break periods, etc.
- Complete driver vehicle inspection reports on equipment and notify managers of any maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
- Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks at appropriate times in compliance with Amazon policy and federal and state regulations, adhere to yard safety policies, obey all applicable traffic laws, and drive in accordance with weather and road conditions.
- Support the business on an as-needed basis by serving as a peer trainer and/or working at nearby site locations within the area.
- Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment (pallet jack, etc.).
- Opportunity to work outside and drive different commercial motor vehicles in the yard and over the road.
- Exposure to different Amazon site types including NACF, NASC, Air, AMZL and AMXL.

- Basic Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent diploma.
- Valid and active driver’s license.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Work 40 hours per week, and overtime as required.
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Can lift up to 49 pounds; stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours; frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach, and ascend/descend stairs.
- Ability to understand and adhere to all job requirement and safety guidelines in English.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences.
- Experience building strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Completion of Career Choice Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Course.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
