Purchasing Specialist
Location:
Fairbanks, AK
Pay: $22–$28/hour DOE
Schedule:
Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

TDL Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to support procurement, vendor coordination, inventory tracking, and administrative operations for a busy utility services environment in Fairbanks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying organized, managing multiple priorities, and supporting day-to-day operations through accurate purchasing and strong vendor communication.
The right candidate will be comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with hands‑on operational support, while maintaining professionalism, flexibility, and attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Process purchase orders, invoices, quotes, and shipping documentation
- Coordinate with vendors regarding pricing, deliveries, order status, and account maintenance
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and organized digital documentation
- Support inventory management and warehouse supply tracking
- Assist with fleet‑related documentation including registrations, inspections, and insurance records
- Support office operations through administrative assistance, supply coordination, and light facility support
- Assist with company events, audit preparation, and special projects as needed
- Maintain vendor files including W9s, certificates of insurance, and payment information
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, vendors, and service providers
- 2–3 years of purchasing, procurement, or related administrative experience preferred (education may substitute for some experience)
- At least 2 years of clerical or business office experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
- Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to company insurance requirements
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
- Effective organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
- Knowledge of waterworks or plumbing‑related parts is helpful but not required
- Background screening is part of the hiring process
- Must support a drug‑free work environment
