JOB SUMMARY

The Community Field Coordinator is responsible for community interface supporting development and operation of the Company Project. This position is responsible for community interface at the project site, management and support of KSOP Subsistence Representatives and Ice Road Monitors in the field, subsistence mitigation interface and strategies, cultural awareness, and other duties as directed by the Community Affairs Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Work with community and project personnel to ensure safe, risk-free interactions between the respective parties aligned with the Company-Kuukpik Land Use Agreement.

  • Assist with and mediate on-site community disputes.

  • Communicate project safety or project-community related issues with next level management and Community Affairs Manager as required.

  • Assist with Subsistence Representative/Ice Road Monitor program administration issues involving vehicle, accommodation, communication and general project/rotational welfare issues.

  • Coordinate/Liaise with Field Environmental Coordinators ensuring alignment with Subsistence Representative project activity concerns, issue management, and remedial actions.

  • Coordinate with Field Environment Coordinators on collation and summary of weekly Subsistence Representative reports and distribution to management.

  • Inform and communicate with field project personnel the importance of Subsistence activities, Community access to project and associated areas under the Land Use Agreement (Kuukpik withdrawal area and area of cooperation), Cultural awareness, Good neighbor expectations, and General community assistance.

  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3+ years of related work experience

  • 7+ years living or working within the Kuukpik community in Alaska

  • Competent with MS Office products, report writing, conflict resolution

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Previous oil and gas industry experience

  • Experience working with the North Slope Borough

  • 1+ year of Kuukpik community relations experience
