JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Craft Civil Roustabout reports directly to the Civil Foreman responsible for the scope of work. The Senior Craft Civil Roustabout supports the civil crew by assisting with a variety of construction and maintenance projects while providing leadership, guidance, and direction to crew members to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Perform all work in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), PREP AK, and the 8 Life-Saving Rules to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while providing technical guidance, direction, and support to crew members.
- Assist with planning, organizing, coordinating, and executing assigned work, including delegating tasks and maintaining effective communication with supervisors and clients.
- Perform structural layout, fitting, and general civil construction activities.
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment required to complete assigned tasks.
- Assemble, disassemble, and install well houses, doors, grip-strut floor systems, grade beams, and other related civil structures.
- Perform excavation work, assist with pipeline digs, install underground casings, and operate heat transfer ground thawing equipment.
- Interpret engineered lift plans and safely perform complex rigging and line lift operations.
- Fabricate containment systems using extrusion welding and heat gun procedures.
- Perform structural and mechanical piping maintenance activities as required.
- Perform rigging of structural and piping components in accordance with approved lifting and rigging practices.
- Identify soil classifications, determine grades and elevations, evaluate soil compaction, and interpret grade stakes and project specifications.
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and other project drawings and specifications.
- Work safely around excavators, loaders, cranes, and other heavy equipment.
- Safely operate company vehicles and equipment, including trucks, walk-behind skid steers, and soil compactors.
- Set up, operate, and maintain oxy-acetylene cutting and heating equipment.
- Perform work in confined spaces when properly trained and authorized.
- Participate in the company’s Respiratory Protection Program and comply with all applicable respiratory protection requirements.
- Follow all permit requirements applicable to assigned work, including obtaining, reviewing, and complying with required permits before work begins.
- Promote a strong safety culture by applying PREP AK on every job and ensuring crew members actively participate in the process.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of civil construction and maintenance operations.
- Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
- Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
