Senior Solid Waste Engineer – Anchorage, Alaska

Primary duties include all aspects of engineering and project management for municipal solid waste, industrial waste, and recycling projects, with emphasis on system planning, engineering analysis, cost estimating, design, construction management, pollution control systems, and permitting/regulatory compliance.

Specific responsibilities encompass planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of landfill and monofil liner and final cover systems, storm water controls, groundwater monitoring and remediation networks, leachate management systems, landfill gas collection and control systems, and site layout/infrastructure elements (utilities, roads, support buildings, soil borrow areas, etc.). The engineer will act as lead project designer, engineer of record, and project manager on mid‑size projects, leading multi‑discipline teams, collaborating with national technical experts, supporting new work opportunities, coordinating professional staff, and participating in regulatory reviews.

• Minimum 5 years of solid waste engineering experience.
• Minimum 10 years of general Civil/Environmental Engineering experience.
• Experience with MSW facility design, permitting, and construction.
• Proven leadership and project management skills.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Local candidates are preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
• Project Engineering and Project Management experience.
