Overview
Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Military Engines F135 Fleet Operations is hiring a F135 Site Lead and Technical SME to support the 354th Fighter Wing at Eielson AFB, Alaska. The role is onsite and requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities- Serve as the F135 Site Lead and propulsion system subject matter expert for the 354th Fighter Wing.
- Provide authoritative guidance on all F135-related matters for the installation’s fifty‑three F135 propulsion systems.
- Oversee tooling, materials, and maintenance processes associated with the propulsion systems.
- Interact directly with F135 hardware and software, aircraft interfaces, and squadron personnel to ensure optimal system performance.
- Engage regularly with USAF leadership and maintainers to assess operational concerns, identify emerging issues, and communicate insights related to engine status, flight operations, configuration management, parts consumption, and support equipment health.
- Collaborate with internal Pratt & Whitney teams—including Customer Support Engineering, Supply Chain Management, the Operations Center, and ALIS—to troubleshoot issues, resolve priority changes, and support evolving customer needs.
- Conduct investigations, determine root causes, and coordinate cross‑functional solutions with Pratt & Whitney, the Joint Program Office, Air Combat Command, partner nations, and Lockheed Martin.
- Coordinate field issues with Engineering, the Operations Center, Logistics Program Management, and other supporting organizations.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations and uphold ethical standards and Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline (non‑technical degrees may be considered with relevant experience).
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in engine or aircraft maintenance, logistics, and support equipment management.
- U.S. citizenship required due to government contract obligations.
- Active U.S. Government Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one; candidates with a recently lapsed clearance (within the past 2 years) will be considered.
- Willingness to travel extensively for customer deployments, including domestic and international assignments.
- Availability to rotate between first and second shift schedules as needed.
- Background in ITAR/ITC.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
