Job SummaryResponsibility for processing referral and travel requests for all providers practicing within the Dena'ina Wellness Center. Access to specialty and ancillary services is a key component of the satisfaction of our un'ina and referring providers. Processes referrals and travel when necessary, coordinating with ANTHC Travel Management, Medicaid and KIT transportation.
Essential Functions- Work closely with all departments of DWC to coordinate travel to and from appointments as needed for un'ina
- Acts as the single point of contact for ANMC Travel Management Office, preparing travel packets for un'ina and arranging local travel when needed
- Acts as a resource and advocate for un'ina related to travel for appointments
- Per referral guidelines, provide appropriate clinical information to specialist
- Utilize the electronic medical record
- Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance

Working Conditions Lifting Requirements- Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met

Qualifications Education- High School Graduate or GED equivalent
- One (1) year experience in a medical office
- Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- One (1) year customer service experience
- One (1) year experience processing patient referrals
- Experience working with Medicaid/Medicare travel
- Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities
- Must have a valid Alaska State driver's license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy, or obtain within 90 days of hire, or, with approval of the hiring manager, sign a
* Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in lieu of having a driver's license to perform the required duties of the position (If Applicable)

This position is a Covered Position subject to all requirements of the Alaska Barrier Crimes Act (ABCA) and to the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, (ICPA). ABCA and ICPA requirements apply and must be complied with at all times in order to remain in the position.
