About Bering Straits Native Corporation
Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) was formed as a result of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) in 1972. BSNC became the regional Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) for the Bering Strait region, which encompasses the majority of the Seward Peninsula and the coastal lands of eastern Norton Sound. This is one of the most culturally diverse regions in the state.
Three distinct Native languages are spoken:
St. Lawrence Island Yupik, Central Yup'ik, and Inupiaq.
About this position:
Payroll Analyst Location - Anchorage, AK

Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Responsible for performing a variety of duties necessary to assist the Payroll Manager in the accurate and timely processing of Subsidiaries payrolls.
- Responsible for reviewing the accuracy of paychecks, deductions and tax computations.
- Posting Labor, Leave and Payroll after reviewing for accuracy.
- Responsible for processing of court-ordered garnishments
- Responsible for processing payroll from start to finish often against tight deadlines.
- Responsible for periodic and quarterly tax payments and filings to the government agencies
- Responsible for reviewing and auditing Davis Bacon certified reports
- Backup for System setup and updates to Cost Point and Deltek Time and Expense
- Assist Payroll with complying and reviewing request information for audits
- Train new and current staff on proper processing producers
- Demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population. Analyst should show a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
- Other related duties as required and assigned within the Payroll Department.
- Education Requirements:
High school diploma or GED High school diploma or equivalent. - Level of Experience Requirements:
Two (2) to Four (4) years of progressively complex Payroll processing required.
- Ability to meet weekly deadlines.
- Ability to balance multiple competing priorities under deadlines.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Must be able to operate office machines, including a computer, copier, fax and 10-key by touch as well as make arithmetic calculations.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Managing one's own time and coordinating time with others.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
- Using computers and computer system software, enter data, or process information.
- Should be familiar with payroll software and procedures used for processing employee paychecks.
- CostPoint experience.
- Deltek Time & Expense Experience.
- Education can be substituted for experience
- This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.
- This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.
