This position is currently located in Anchorage. The position may be in Anchorage, Bethel, Fairbanks, Homer, Juneau, Kenai, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Nome, Sitka, and Wasilla, depending upon the location of the most qualified candidate. What you will be doing:
In this role, you will lead and support security and privacy initiatives for the Eligibility Modernization Office's eligibility and enrollment systems. You will coordinate implementation and ongoing monitoring of federal and state security requirements, including ARC-AMPE, NIST SP 800-53 Revision 5, HIPAA, HITECH, and CMS/HHS requirements. You will develop and maintain security documentation supporting authority to operate or connect, continuous monitoring, audits, vulnerability scans, and corrective actions.

You will conduct and track risk assessments; support data protection, access controls, incident response, recovery, retention, and destruction; and develop security and privacy training. Working with program, technical, vendor, and external partners, the analyst evaluates system designs and testing results, communicates requirements, and ensures project decisions and deliverables protect sensitive information.

Who we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following position-specific competencies:

  • Project Management:
    Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance.
  • Software Development:
    Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for designing, developing, and testing software in a given environment.
  • Information Systems/Network Security:
    Knowledge of methods, tools, and procedures, including development of information security plans, to prevent information systems vulnerabilities, and provide or restore security of information systems and network services.
  • Security Frameworks & Compliance:
    Describe your experience implementing or supporting federal or state security and privacy requirements, such as ARC-AMPE, NIST SP 800-53, HIPAA, or comparable frameworks. Explain your role in developing security documentation, supporting authorization activities, and monitoring ongoing compliance.
  • Risk Management & Project Oversight:
    Provide an example of a security or privacy risk assessment or remediation effort you led or supported across multiple stakeholders. How did you identify and prioritize risks, assign and track corrective actions, and ensure deliverables met security and quality requirements?
