Position: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – Anchorage, FT
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - Anchorage

Key Responsibilities:
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will:

  • Assess, Diagnose, and Treat:
    Work with children, adolescents, adults, and elders to provide comprehensive mental health care.
  • Prescribe Medications:
    Utilize your expertise to manage treatment plans in accordance with Alaska’s Nurse Practice Act.
  • Collaborate:
    Partner with counselors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic client care.
  • Document Care:
    Ensure timely and accurate medical records, including assessments, treatment plans, and billing entries.
  • Develop Treatment Plans:
    Create individualized treatment plans that incorporate the latest best practices in mental health care.
  • Engage with Families:
    Communicate with guardians and significant others when appropriate, fostering a supportive network for your clients.
  • Order Tests:
    Utilize diagnostic tests to monitor client progress and treatment effectiveness.

Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • A Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Nursing with specialization in psychiatry/mental health.
  • An unencumbered license to practice as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in Alaska.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
  • A valid DEA number and no exclusions from federal health care programs.
  • Strong documentation skills and experience navigating electronic health records.

Work Location:

  • You must be willing to commute or relocate
  • This is an In-person position in Anchorage, AK

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive Salary: $115,000 – $150,000 per year, based on experience.
