Job SummaryBaptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team at Baptist Medical Center-Clay in Fleming Island, FL. This is a PRN opportunity. The role includes a 40‑minute call response time and is self‑scheduled based on department needs. It qualifies for a competitive call differential.
Responsibilities- Providing for patient needs as recognized through the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement.
- Supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services.
- Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
- Education of patients/SO/families regarding their disease process and plan of care.
- Coordination and preparation of assigned room/case, assessment of patient care needs and anticipation of case needs.
- Positioning the patient, managing the room, and initiating counts during the intra‑operative period.
- Acting as the patient’s primary advocate and responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care.
- Providing care for critical patients that require a higher acuity of care.
- This position requires call.
- 2–3 years Surgical Services Experience.
- 2–3 years Critical Care Nursing Experience.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (required).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Conscious Sedation Certification.
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Preferred or.
- Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Preferred or.
- Licensed Registered Nurse Required.
