Inside Sales Representative – Kenai, AK
Job : R. Airgas is hiring for an Inside Sales Representative in Kenai, AK (Retail shop). The role is focused on partnering with customers to supply industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and other essential supplies. Responsibilities include advising on tools and procedures, demonstrating equipment use, managing orders, and maintaining customer relationships.

- Serve as a trusted guide, advising customers on tools, hardware, and materials needed for projects
- Demonstrate equipment use and share insights on product quality to help customers pioneer new solutions
- Ensure adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external partners, fostering long‑term relationships
- Complete all required paperwork accurately, including coding, costing, and pricing
- Partner with customers to identify the best tools and procedures for their specific tasks
- Manage order entry and process transactions; assist the team with deposit reconciliation
- Coordinate via phone, e‑mail, and in person with customers and team members to provide helpful information on costs and delivery
- Contribute to an outgoing call strategy to support the continued growth and success of the branch
- Coordinate the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating supportively with customers, vendors, and colleagues
- Stock shelves and maintain welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent customer experience
- Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments (or equivalent education and life experience)
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced setting
- Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus
- Attention to detail in handling transactions
- Availability for occasional overtime when the team needs extra support
- Must be able to operate in a drug‑free workplace
- Background in gas, welding, or safety supplies is a wonderful asset
- Familiarity with SAP, Google, or MS Office applications
- Detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities
- Ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds
