- Review work assignments for Plumbing, Gas Fitter, Welder, Pipefitter, and General Maintenance areas and determine task functional approach/delivery.
- Ensure work orders are completed on time.
- Provide technical expertise with the Site Manager for in‑house or subcontract accomplishments.
- Communicate and interact directly with customers regarding unexpected or additional repairs and determine customer needs.
- Assign, coordinate, and track technicians’ work assignments; review work orders; monitor safety and well‑being of employees; document completed assignments.
- Review completed work for quality, completeness, and customer satisfaction.
- Schedule plumbing‑related work; maintain quality control and project closeout.
- Inspect structures to avoid obstructions that could weaken the structure during pipe installation; locate and mark pipe positions and passage holes in walls and floors.
- Determine best application and process for installing a wide variety of plumbing fixtures, connections, and transit systems.
- Update work control status of repairs and estimate completion dates.
- Respond to customer inquiries and complaints; ensure completed work meets quality control standards; provide diagnoses and repair solutions.
- Ensure quality service meets contract requirements; follow up on QC inspections.
- Conduct supply and equipment inventory of storage areas.
- Maintain, repair, install, inspect, remove, replace, and modify all plumbing equipment and components for water, sewer, swimming pools, inert gas, natural gas, air vacuum, compressed air, steam, and POL systems.
- Remove blockages from drain lines, interior/exterior sewers, floor drains, fan coil units, air handling units, stacks, vents, and storm drainage systems.
- Adjust, repair, or replace leaky joints, faucets, and other outlets to maintain proper operation of all related plumbing and steam fitting systems.
- Install and repair domestic, industrial, and commercial hot water heaters, tanks, and plumbing fixtures.
- Place and connect water, air, natural gas, sewer, and storm fixtures to such as sewage lines, water closets, lavatories, showers, sinks, gas heaters, stoves, air compressor equipment, shop hydraulic vehicle lifts, cooling towers, grease traps, garbage disposals, dishwashers, floor drains, condensate and drip pans, circulation systems, and associated equipment.
- Apply all codes, including UMC and UPC, to installations, repairs, and maintenance; ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, sizing, alignment, support, grading, and environmental protection requirements.
- Read and understand blueprints, work plans, and maps.
- Utilize mobile maintenance and inspection devices to record all service and repair activities.
- Operate company‑provided vehicles, trailers, and lifts, gas and electric powered small equipment; wear PPE as required.
- Seven (7) years of direct commercial or industrial plumbing experience required.
- Three (3) years of mentoring and guiding a similar craftsman preferred.
- Municipality of Anchorage plumber license required.
- State of Anchorage journeyman level plumber license required.
- Alaska certificate of fitness required.
- Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT) certificate from the State of Alaska for personnel inspecting, testing, certifying, and making recommendations for corrective action for backflow prev enters.
