Job Objective:
Directs and manages staff in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical power and utility systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, operating environment.
- Identify current and future electrical requirements by establishing rapport with management, engineering, production personnel, technicians, and other individuals to understand electrical needs.
- Ensure production operations by determining work priorities and scheduling repair, maintenance, and installation of electricity.
- Support product development and improvement by reviewing new product plans, discussing equipment needs and modifications, and coordinating activities of electricians and other workers.
- Direct electrical operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Direct and supervise electrical, instrument, analyzer, air conditioning, and heating repairs.
- Troubleshoot various types of electrical circuits with extensive experience.
- Work with DC systems (24 to 125 VDC) and AC low and medium voltage systems.
- Read electrical drawings and schematics for troubleshooting and basic maintenance.
- Switch, rack, and maintain circuit breakers in low and medium voltage systems.
- Become familiar with back‑up power generation, outage response, and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and maintain UPS systems.
- Demonstrate commitment to company core values—Integrity, Ownership, Urgency, Alignment, and Innovation—in all daily responsibilities and interactions.
- Actively support and contribute to the company’s mission and vision through reliable, high‑quality work.
- Eight (8) years minimum experience in oil and gas plant and field electrical maintenance.
- Specialized knowledge of high voltage electricity, power stations, switch gear, and safety training.
- Ability to travel and may be required to stay overnight for certain tasks and projects.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&), and PLC and flow computer schematics.
- Working knowledge of variable speed drives for electrical motors and electronic or pneumatic control valves.
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to accurately solve problems and to be available 24 hours per day on call for emergencies.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and the public.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- High school education with coursework in skilled crafts or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
- Current AK Driver’s license.
- Alaska Electrical Journeyman’s license (Alaska Electrical Journeyman’s Certification of Fitness).
