JOB SUMMARY

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment to support O&M operations. The ideal candidate will possess an NCCCO certification for mobile crane operation with the ability to operate all equipment on-site in support of O&M operations.

The Heavy Equipment Operator should be able to operate tractor-trailers, front-end loaders, zoom boom, vac trucks and tankers. The ability to successfully complete daily walk-around inspections of tractor-trailer and/or equipment, load inspections, and properly securing equipment weighing up to 125,000 pounds. Inspect all load-securing devices. This will be a multi-skilled position with the ability to support many varying daily tasks required by the project.

The ability and willingness to operate the required piece of equipment for the respective job for the day will be the key to the success of both the position and the project. Other duties may be assigned as business needs require.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Operate a wide variety of pieces of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

  • The operation of Vacuum Trucks

  • Monitor equipment operation and identify malfunctions.

  • Clean, store, and maintain equipment as required.

  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • High-school diploma or GED.

  • Five (3) years of Heavy Equipment Operating experience related to road maintenance and utility industry.

  • Current DOT medical card and Class A commercial driver's license with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements.

  • Driving record must meet Company requirements.

  • Crane Operator and NCCCO Certification.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment.
