Position: Equipment Operator Journey 1/2 (PCN 251159)

Job Description

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Southcoast Region Highways and Aviation/M&O is looking for an Equipment Operator, Journey 1/2 in Iliamna.

Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operator Journey 1: Operate light duty equipment to perform maintenance activities in support of state mission and infrastructure. Use heavy‑duty equipment in a training capacity.
  • Equipment Operator Journey 2: Operate heavy equipment to perform maintenance activities. Shift work may be required.
Required Qualifications
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with required endorsements (N‑Tanker or Haz Mat as applicable).
  • Class A CDL must be obtained within 180 days of hire for Journey 1, or within 90 days for Journey 2.
  • Background check and pre‑employment drug testing. Random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with policy.
  • Knowledge of transportation principles by air, rail, sea, or road.
  • Vehicle operation knowledge for cars, trucks, watercraft.
  • Problem‑solving skills and ability to use judgment in evaluating alternatives and making recommendations.
  • Eye‑hand coordination for job‑related tasks.
Additional Requirements
  • Compliance with Equipment Operator Flex Letter of Agreement (LOA).
  • Obtain firearms qualification if applicable.
