Position Summary
The Enrichment Teacher is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students who demonstrate high academic ability, creativity, and advanced problem‑solving skills. This role focuses on designing and implementing engaging, project‑based learning experiences that foster curiosity, innovation, and critical thinking. The Enrichment Teacher collaborates with classroom teachers to identify and support gifted and high‑achieving students, ensuring that their academic and creative needs are met through differentiated instruction.
This position requires expertise in inquiry‑based learning, STEM education, humanities enrichment, and the integration of technology in the classroom. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating a challenging and stimulating learning environment where students can explore their interests and develop advanced skills in collaboration and independent learning.
Key Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum Development- Continue to develop and implement the J‑Quest program that extends and enhances the core curriculum.
- Advocate for and support the implementation of school wide enrichment models that extend learning opportunities to all students.
- Build partnerships with local organizations, universities, and businesses to provide enrichment experiences beyond the classroom.
- Design engaging, student‑centered learning experiences including STEM, humanities, arts, and interdisciplinary skills.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of gifted, talented, and high‑achieving students.
- Foster critical thinking, inquiry‑based learning, and problem‑solving through project‑based and experiential learning activities.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including Socratic discussions, hands‑on experiments, research projects, and technology integration. Align enrichment activities with Common Core State Standards (CCSS), Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS), International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) for student standards, and 21st‑century skills.
- Encourage students to pursue passion projects, conduct independent research, and engage in collaborative problem‑solving.
- Integrate technology tools, coding, robotics, and digital research into enrichment lessons.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress through authentic assessments, project outcomes, and self‑reflections.
- Provide individualized feedback and goal‑setting opportunities for students.
- Organize school‑wide projects, competitions, and showcases to highlight student work and creativity.
- Work closely with classroom teachers, innovation team, and school leadership to support differentiation strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress, enrichment opportunities, and strategies for supporting learning at home.
- Serve as a resource for classroom teachers, providing materials, strategies, and co‑teaching support to enhance instruction.
- Stay current on best practices in gifted education, enrichment strategies, and inquiry‑based learning through ongoing professional development.
- Design a flexible and engaging learning space that encourages creativity, collaboration, and independent exploration.
- Maintain and organize instructional materials, technology tools, and resources for hands‑on learning.
- Manage student behavior using positive reinforcement, goal‑setting, and engagement strategies.
- Develop an inclusive environment where all students feel challenged, valued, and encouraged to take risks in learning.
- Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Gifted Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field. - Preferred:
Master’s degree in Elementary Education, Gifted Education, or STEM Education. - Preferred:
Minimum 3+ years of teaching experience, preferably with gifted, high‑achieving, or enrichment students. - Experience with project‑based learning, inquiry‑driven instruction, and interdisciplinary curriculum design.
