General FunctionThe Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish For Eyes as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. Delivers exceptional value to customers by providing legendary service and high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Greets all customers with a warm welcome, exchanges names, and explains what to expect. Demonstrates urgency in providing service and meeting customer needs.
- Custom fits glasses and precisely places prescriptions in lenses.
- Acts as a leader in optical knowledge and provides a voice for associates.
- Takes and records measurements; adjusts or fits eyewear accurately; ensures finished eyewear meets standards and customer requirements.
- Attracts new customers.
- Explores customer needs by asking open-ended questions.
- Is attentive to details, asks follow-up questions, reads verbal/non-verbal cues; reviews prescriptions and identifies special needs.
- Assists co-workers with difficult or complex product needs and prescriptions.
- Utilizes store tools and adheres to Brand Store Commitments.
- Performs work accurately and thoroughly using all technology under time pressure and high customer volume; demonstrates product knowledge and communicates features and benefits of lenses and frames; reinforces customer selections.
- Anticipates problems and develops long-term solutions; ensures customer satisfaction and ongoing expectations; partners with management as needed.
- Possesses the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities.
- Delivers on commitments, seeks feedback, and asks for referrals.
- Strives to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
- Presents, celebrates, and educates at pick up.
- Takes pride in store appearance and keeps store clean, attractive, and organized; secures and protects company assets.
- Informs management of safety opportunities and demonstrates safe work practices.
- Maintains a proactive, can-do attitude with a drive for results and continuous learning and improvement.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures, including discounting, promotions, and inventory management.
- Sells on your feet 80-100% of the time.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed (e.g., customer calls, dispensing eyewear).
- Maintains proper dress code, name tag, and associate tablet.
- High School graduate or equivalent
- State Licensure
- Optical dispensing experience
- Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder
- Knowledge of current store merchandise
- Basic math skills
- Awareness of current fashion trends
- Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet
- Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators
