Special Education Resource Room Teacher

Job Description – Special Education Resource Room Teacher – Full Time – Kennebunk High School, Kennebunk, ME, US.

Salary: $57,392.00–$ annually (KAKEA CBA Appendix I salary scale ).

• Provide direct instruction through planning and delivering high‑quality, differentiated instruction.
• Coordinate and supervise Education Technicians.
• Analyze assessment and performance data to design appropriate instruction.
• Maintain special education documentation in compliance with Maine regulations.
• Maintain knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations.
• Attend special education meetings and stay current with best practices and compliance requirements.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, teachers, and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate records for annual reviews and triennial evaluations.
• Provide regular progress reports to parents at least quarterly or as needed.
• Provide consultation and support to families.
• Collaborate with outside agencies regarding student and family needs.
• Monitor and analyze student progress and adjust programming as needed.
• Maintain strong organizational systems for student services and documentation.
• Demonstrate leadership in transition services.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services.

• Proven professional experience working with school‑aged children.
• Strong background in high school subject areas, especially math and literacy.
• Experience with high school scheduling and vocational programs preferred.
• Maine DOE Certification Endorsement 282:
  Teacher of Children with Disabilities required.
• Maine Department of Education Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) required.
• Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred.

Regular school year for professional teachers. Salary to be established by the Board.
