Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an Embedded Systems Programmer / Electrical Engineer - Rail to support the development of control systems for commercial and industrial laundry equipment. This entry-level role focuses on embedded firmware development, PLC programming, HMI interfaces, and machine automation. The ideal candidate is eager to gain hands‑on experience in industrial applications while collaborating with cross‑functional engineering and production teams.
Duties
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware for rail systems
- Write, test, and debug PLC code for machine automation and control systems
- Assist with integration of software and hardware components including sensors, motors, and control boards
- Support development and maintenance of HMI interfaces for machine control and diagnostics
- Participate in system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and production teams on system improvements
- Assist field and production teams with diagnosing and resolving technical issues
- Maintain software documentation, version control, and system change records
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 0–3 years of related experience in embedded systems, controls, or automation
- Proficiency in C programming
- Experience with embedded firmware development
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical problem‑solving skills
- Familiarity with Visual Studio programming environments
- Exposure to HMI design and development
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming and industrial automation systems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented engineering environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment around machinery and electrical equipment - Ability to use computers, testing equipment, and hand tools as required
- Ability to distinguish colors, read technical diagrams, and interpret engineering documentation
