Job Description Summary
GE Aerospace is looking for an Advanced Lead Engineer to join our Commercial Field Service organization. As a member of this team you will be co‑located at the customer’s site in North Charleston, South Carolina, providing day‑to‑day support and serving as the primary GE on‑site representative. The role requires program leadership, technical direction and hands‑on troubleshooting assistance for the operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of assigned jet engine product lines before and during aircraft entry into service.
Standard working hours are 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM EST, with a 30 minute lunch break and the flexibility to support around‑the‑clock operations on weekends and holidays.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support customer issue resolutions, fleet issues, service bulletin implementations, monitoring and diagnostics, fleet configuration and outage management.
- Interpret OEM and technical manuals as necessary.
- Review maintenance actions to identify training needs.
- Apply FLIGHT DECK principles to deliver continuous improvement and proactive reliability enhancements.
- Produce data analytics and provide timely reporting of production status, program updates, events and trends to key internal stakeholders.
- Recommend opportunities for proactive maintenance and facilitate rework to ensure engine serviceability meets new aircraft certification requirements.
- Share voice of customer insights with internal stakeholders to support performance analysis, marketing intelligence and sales opportunities.
- Display flexibility and willingness to work onsite on weekends and holidays as required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with at least two years of full‑time experience in airline operations, maintenance planning, engineering, aviation propulsion or a related field.
- Or a high school diploma / GED with at least six years of full‑time experience in airline operations, maintenance planning, engineering, aviation propulsion or a related field.
- Technical expertise in aircraft engine or turbo machinery equipment.
- Experience using software or data analytics to inform technical decisions and provide recommendations to customers or internal stakeholders.
- Self‑directed with the ability to solve complex problems using sound judgment and critical thinking.
- Strong project management, analytical, time‑management and prioritization skills to lead and deliver on result‑oriented priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to forge deep relationships at all levels, with both internal stakeholders and customers.
- Passion for understanding the commercial function and driving success for Aerospace with internal and external stakeholders.
