THIS POSITION IS FOR THE KENNER POLICE DEPARTMENT. IT DOES NOT FALL UNDER KENNER CIVIL SERVICE.
A Kenner Police Department Immigration & Border Security Analyst will assist with cases involving undocumented immigrants who have engaged in violent criminal behavior within the City of Kenner. The analyst will focus on enforcement coordination, intelligence analysis, and cross-jurisdictional collaboration to enhance public safety and reduce violent crime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Monitor, analyze, cases involving undocumented immigrants engaged in violent or high-risk criminal activity within the City of Kenner.
- Coordinate enforcement efforts with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, including participation in cross-jurisdictional task forces.
- Facilitate intelligence collection, analysis, and sharing related to immigration-related violent crime and public safety threats.
- Support targeted enforcement operations using data-driven and intelligence-led policing strategies.
- Utilize advanced technology and analytical tools to identify trends, patterns, and emerging threats related to violent crime.
- Develop and support innovative crime prevention and intervention strategies focused on reducing repeat offenses and improving community safety.
- Assist with community engagement efforts, including education, outreach, and collaboration with community.
- Support comprehensive treatment, diversion, and referral programs where appropriate, in coordination with partner agencies.
- Prepare reports, briefings, and documentation for department leadership, funding agencies, and partner organizations.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Chief of Police or Command Staff.
- Work closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
- Participate in interagency intelligence-sharing initiatives.
- Coordinate with prosecutors, courts, corrections, and community organizations to support enforcement and prevention goals.
Engage with community partners to enhance trust, awareness, and cooperation.
Minimum Qualifications:- Experience in law enforcement, criminal intelligence analysis, homeland security, or a related public safety field.
- Knowledge of criminal investigative processes, intelligence analysis, and interagency coordination.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Experience working with immigration-related investigations or task forces.
- Familiarity with advanced crime analysis software and intelligence platforms.
Training or experience in community-oriented policing or crime prevention initiatives.
