Job Summary
The Multi‑Modality Imaging Technologist provides clinical services according to radiology practice standards to ensure optimal departmental functions. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills in using all radiographic and CT/MR equipment, following all related protocols and procedures, and producing high‑quality imaging exams within the appropriate time for the required radiologic procedure.
Responsibilities- Confirm patient identity, body part, and body side prior to imaging.
- Produce quality radiographic or CT/MR exams and review them with radiologists as needed.
- Communicate with patients to obtain clinical history or informed consent and explain procedures.
- Recognize and respond to clinical or emergent problems that may interfere with exams.
- Acquire and evaluate patient lab values when applicable; respond to critical findings.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by cleaning and disinfecting equipment and checking safety hazards.
- Perform quality control checks, participate in department QC and PI programs, and follow up on deficiencies.
- Maintain proper sterile or aseptic technique for procedures as indicated.
- Complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient departmental operation, including data entry in EMR (EPIC) and PACS/RIS.
- One year experience as a registered technologist.
- At least one year of CT or MRI technology experience.
Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution or a two‑year certification program in Radiologic Technology. Training from the United States Armed Forces is acceptable.
Licenses & Certifications- Basic Life Support – Health Care Provider.
- Limited Lab License (WJMC).
- Two advanced modality registries: MRI, CT, US, or Mammography.
This position does not formally supervise employees.
Physical Demands- Sitting, standing, walking, and climbing are continuous (67‑100% of the day).
- Frequent lifting from floor to waist (0‑10lb, 36‑66% of the day) and similarly for other weight ranges.
- Continuous carrying, pushing/pulling, twisting, bending, reaching, and fine motor activities.
